Yellow Orange Rosefinch? a rare bird!

The rare Common Rosefinch
Carodacus erythinus
We had 5 Rosefinch in our garden 2 female/juv, 2 bright red males & this odd yellow/orange one.

I found them in our garden while Dad was away in Shetland, so I took some photos.

It's amazing to see stunning rare birds like these.

  2. Hello from a fellow young birder!
Very jelous to say the least about you living on fair isle, only heightens the difference between Midlands Birding and birding on offshore islands. Having 5 Rosefinch in your garden is simply mindblowing to us 'down here' who's idea of a good garden bird in a Mealy Redpoll, nevermind those white fluffball Homemanns arctics you get up there!
Keep up the good work on the blog!
